Elsbeth "Betty" Norton, 87 years young, of French Lick, Indiana entered into eternal rest on April 7, 2016 at Spring Valley Meadows, French Lick, Indiana. Betty was born on November 17, 1928 in Mosbach, Germany to Heinrich and Fredrieche (Holzbaur) Breunig. Betty loved to tell the story of how she met a young American soldier in Heidelberg, Germany and how she later married Thomas Nelson Norton on January 26, 1950. Two years later, Betty left Germany with her husband and their baby daughter to start their new home, stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Betty was a homemaker and eventually went to work as a Switchboard Operator for the French Lick Sheraton Hotel and remained there for almost 30 years. Betty was preceded in death by her husband in September of 1991. She is survived by: (1) Daughter Mary Ann Cody (Rick), Viera, Florida, (2) Sons Robert Nelson Norton, French Lick, Indiana. Jack Earl Norton (Barb), Oaklandon, lndiana. 3 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Betty's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, 9640 W. State Road 50, French Lick, Indiana 47432.
